Tauranga Motor Company is pleased to welcome the new Suzuki e Vitara to its local Suzuki lineup, marking an important moment for the brand as it introduces its first fully electric vehicle in New Zealand. For Suzuki, the e Vitara represents a new chapter, but it also stays closely connected to the qualities that have long made the name familiar: compact SUV practicality, everyday usability and a straightforward approach to technology.
Built on Suzuki’s dedicated HEARTECT-e platform, the e Vitara has been developed as a fully electric SUV from the outset rather than adapted from a conventional petrol model. New Zealand models use a 61kWh battery, with a WLTP range of up to 426 kilometres for the two-wheel drive version and 395 kilometres for the ALLGRIP-e all-wheel drive model, giving buyers a choice between front-wheel drive efficiency and all-wheel drive capability within the same nameplate.
The e Vitara features a high level of specification. Standard equipment includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, keyless entry, physical climate controls, and a glass roof section with sunshade. Suzuki has also given the model a strong safety package, with features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, parking sensors and a 360-degree camera included in the local specification.
Compared with previous Vitara models, the new e Vitara is larger overall, with the longest wheelbase of any production Suzuki to date at 2,700mm and 180mm of ground clearance, giving it a stronger SUV stance and more cabin space.
The Suzuki e Vitara arrives with pricing from $54,990 plus on-road costs for the two-wheel drive model, while the ALLGRIP-e all-wheel drive version is priced from $62,990 plus ORC for a limited time. Both models are backed by Suzuki’s eight-year warranty programme and five years of roadside assistance.
