With GAC now part of the TMC family, customers across the Bay of Plenty and Waikato can explore a new brand that’s already made a strong impression internationally for its design, technology, and rapid growth.
GAC – short for Guangzhou Automobile Group – is one of the major automotive manufacturers in China and is known globally for producing a wide range of passenger vehicles across multiple segments. Beyond its own brands, GAC is also recognised for long-running joint venture partnerships with global automotive leaders including Honda and Toyota. These collaborations have helped shape GAC’s manufacturing scale and technical capability over time, and are a key part of the brand’s broader story as it expands into new markets.
The addition of GAC is an exciting milestone for Tauranga Motor Company. Over the years, TMC has built a reputation for representing strong automotive brands and supporting customers with a high standard of service across our network. Welcoming GAC further expands the range available to our customers alongside Kia, Suzuki, Honda, GWM, Omoda Jaecoo, and Mahindra, and it reflects our ongoing focus on offering more choice – across different vehicle styles, drivetrains, and price points – under one trusted dealer umbrella.
GAC’s initial lineup at TMC includes three models that each bring something distinct to the range: the Emzoom, the Aion V, and the M8 PHEV. The Emzoom introduces GAC’s approach to the modern petrol SUV, combining sharp styling with a contemporary interior and a strong equipment offering. The Aion V represents GAC’s dedicated electric vehicle direction under its Aion badge, bringing EV technology into a practical SUV format. Completing the launch lineup is the M8 PHEV, a premium plug-in hybrid people mover designed for those who want a high level of comfort, space, and electrified performance.
